Anidulafungin is a semisynthetic polypeptide synthesized from the fermentation product of Aspergillus nidulans. It has been FDA-approved to treat candidemia and esophageal and disseminated candidiasis. Anidulafungin undergoes slow biochemical degradation and is not metabolized by the liver.
