Product Description

Polymyxin B sulfate is a cyclic polypeptide antibiotic, specifically a mixture of polymyxin B1 and B2, derived from the bacterium Bacillus polymyxa. It’s used to treat infections of the urinary tract, meninges, and bloodstream caused by susceptible strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It works by disrupting the cell membrane of Gram-negative bacteria, leading to bacterial death.
