Cephapirin benzathine is a benzathine salt form of a first generation cephalosporin antibiotic. Cephapirin benzathine has a wide range of activity against gram negative and gram positive bacteria. It has also been used as an antifungal in animals infected with Candida albicans.

Therapeutic Action

Cephapirin Benzathine is the benzathine salt form of cephapirin, a semisynthetic, broad-spectrum, first-generation cephalosporin with antibacterial activity. Cephapirin binds to and inactivates penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located on the inner membrane of the bacterial cell wall.
